
Sensei Radu Robutu has started practicing Aikido in 1991. In 1992 he became a direct student of Sensei Mervyn Williams, technical director of The Ki School of Aikido Britain, whose teachings he has been following ever since. Sensei Mervyn Williams has practiced Aikido as a student and assistant of Sensei Kenneth Williams, technical director of the Ki Federation of Great Britain. Sensei Williams was the first non-Japanese assistant to a Japanese teacher, Kenshiro Abbe Sensei 10th Dan, though wohom he also had the chance to meet and study with Nakazono Sensei 8th Dan, Noro Sensei 7th Dan, Tamura Sensei 7th Dan and Tada Sensei 8th Dan. Twenty years later Sensei Williams met and practiced with Koichi Tohei Sensei 10th Dan. Koichi Tohei Sensei is the founder and developer of Shin Shin Toitsu (Mind and Body Unification) Aikido and Ki Society. He was a direct student of O Sensei Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido.
